Ideal Protein

Phase One

By restricting carbohydrate intake, the Weight Loss phase is designed to optimize fat loss through ketosis (a safe and natural state in which the body mobilizes stored fat as its energy source). You will be on an easy to follow, medically formulated diet plan.

Making sure the weight our clients are losing is fat and not muscle is a priority. With most calorie restricted diets up to 50% of the weight loss is muscle. For example, if you lose 20 pounds 10 will be fat and the other 10 will be muscle. Muscle is the engine that burns calories so maintaining muscle is vital to keeping the weight off. We accomplish this by using the highest quality protein supplements that include all 21 amino acids.

You’ll remain in Phase 1 until you have reached your weight loss goal.

Phase Two

When you lose 5% or more of your total body weight, your biological evolutionary wiring causes your body to regain that lost weight and bring you back to your former weight—regardless of your own intentions!

This wiring switches on a state where more calories are desired than required, resulting in more calories available to refill the “fat tank.” It does this by increasing the hunger hormone (ghrelin) and suppressing the satiety hormones (including leptin, which tells the brain not only when to stop eating but also keeps hunger at bay between mealtimes).

During this phase you will continue to meet weekly with your coach as you reintroduce complex carbohydrates and add in fats until you find what we call your ‘Macro Code’. This is the optimal amount of proteins, fats and carbohydrates that will keep hunger and cravings at bay and help you to maintain your new weight in maintenance.

Phase Three

It’s time for the real world! We know that can be scary.

Now that you have your Macro Code you will continue to work with your coach on how to navigate real situations. The ‘middle’ isles in the grocery store, how to use the nutrition labels on products and convert them to your new code. What does an indulgence mean? What about alcohol?  What’s a tune up?

Through continued education and support you’ll keep that weight off for good this time!
